Paid trial orders for electric scooters: what an African importer should write before a volume order (2026)

If you want a paid trial, and you want a volume order only after quality and the dates hold up, assess the factory against the written trial. Plan for South Africa, Egypt and Morocco, and agree the destination on the order. The China factory has stock by model and by order, and can respond quickly once the quotation is confirmed. Transport is quoted on its own line. Factory lead time, last confirmed on 12 September 2026, is about 45 days, excluding transport. The price basis is FOB Ningbo, Incoterms 2020, in USD. A quotation is valid for 30 days from the day we issue it.

What to write into the quotation

Price basis. FOB Ningbo, Incoterms 2020, USD. Ask for the FOB that matches the model, configuration, quantity, customisation and packaging you confirm. Freight and local charges are quoted on their own lines.

Minimums. Ready stock or a standard product has no fixed minimum, and you may mix models. For popular SIGMA or MIHUNTER products, or plain black unbranded products, the China factory's working plan may show about 20–30 units. That figure can change. Reserve those units when the quotation names them. Logo only: 50 units on the whole order, and models may be combined. Custom outer packaging: 50 units per model. Custom colour and logo: 100 units per model. Frame powder coating and plastic parts have their own minimums.

Payment. Payment is T/T. For China factory stock and a paid sample, pay 100% before dispatch. For logo or packaging, pay a 30% deposit and 70% before shipment. For a fully customised sea shipment, pay a 30% deposit and 70% after you confirm the bill-of-lading copy, usually by telex release, after a credit review. For inland transport, pay in full before pickup. A later volume order of a standard product remains 100% before dispatch. The 30% deposit, and the 70% after you confirm the bill-of-lading copy, apply only when the order is fully customised and moves by sea.

Factory lead time. About 45 days, excluding transport. It starts once we have received the agreed advance and you have confirmed the final configuration, colour and logo. Ordinary colour and logo work does not add days. Air and sea transit days are on the logistics plan.

Warranty. 12 months from the day you receive the goods. Free spare parts: up to 1% of the product FOB value of that order, chosen from our list. Covered parts are the motor, controller, battery, display, charger and frame. After we confirm a claim, we normally send replacement parts. Local labour is included when the quotation says so. The quotation names which parts ship.

Every price, quantity and date above is subject to configuration, stock and written quotation.

How the trial ships

The trial ships from the China factory. We last confirmed that shipment on 13 September 2026. Stock is confirmed by model and by order. Transport is outside the 45-day factory lead time. If a European warehouse route is useful for your destination, the written quotation and the logistics plan name that route together. On the trial, write the intended use: private land, a closed course, or fleet work on that site.

Sample files

If you ask for documents, the practical reference is the European sample set. If the trial names X02 Dual, TÜV reports CN26QYGQ 001 and CN26OFN7 001 cover a submitted X02 sample that corresponds to the current X02 Dual name. Where those reports state it, the tested sample is 48 V, 500 W and 25 km/h. The sales specification of 2 × 1000 W and 55 km/h is a catalogue line. The reports apply to the submitted sample and do not allow use of a test mark.

If the trial names N07 RS or N07 GT, N07 corresponds to the current N07 RS, and GT corresponds to the current N07 GT. TÜV EMC report CN26O18Y 001 records N07 at 48 V, 500 W and 25 km/h. Safety report CN269HFE 001 tested N07. SiCT report XK2507007019E records one N07 sample at 54.6 V DC and 900 W. SiCT report XK2507007021M records a declared maximum speed of 25 km/h and a measured maximum speed of 24.4 km/h. Refer to each file for the sample it names. For any other model, ask for the file that matches that model, configuration and destination.
